James G. Kozelek, Esq.

James "Jim" G. Kozelek is a Shareholder, leader of the Commercial Collections Group, and the office managing attorney for the firm’s Columbus office. Exclusively focusing on commercial collections, litigation, and arbitration, he partners with banks and businesses both local and national in scale to offer comprehensive recovery strategies. Mr. Kozelek has been recognized for his professionalism and legal ability by the media with his inclusion in the list of "Ohio Rising Stars" by Ohio Super Lawyers (2010-11), an honor awarded annually to no more than 2.5 percent of attorneys in the state.  

Mr. Kozelek currently serves as chair of the board of directors for First Service Federal Credit Union, an institution he has supported in a volunteer capacity for more than 10 years. As chair, he works to ensure the credit union follows all state and federal laws and regulations, and that proper policies, procedures, and controls are in place for both management and staff. He has also held leadership roles with the Commercial Law League of America (CLLA), where he currently serves as a Creditors’ Rights Section representative to the Board of Governors. He is a member of the American Bar Association, Columbus Bar Association, and Ohio State Bar Association, and a fellow of the Columbus Bar Foundation. 

Mr. Kozelek earned his J.D. cum laude and Order of the Curia from Capital University Law School, and his B.A. in English from The Ohio State University. He is licensed in Ohio, and is admitted to practice before the U.S. Bankruptcy Court and the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Ohio.
