Jason K. Wright, Esq.

Jason K. Wright is an Attorney in the Bankruptcy Group at Weltman, Weinberg & Reis Co., LPA, where he handles consumer bankruptcy matters. Mr. Wright focuses his practice on litigation of Adversary Proceedings brought in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court, including nondischargeability actions resulting from fraudulent activity or purchases made prior to filing bankruptcy, and defense of lien avoidance and hardship discharge cases. Mr. Wright also handles general consumer bankruptcy matters on behalf of financial institutions in Chapter 7 and 13 cases, such as relief from stay, objections to confirmation, and reaffirmations of otherwise dischargeable debts.

Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Wright worked for many years at a private firm in Central Ohio specializing in torts and civil litigation. He also served as in-house counsel for the Ohio Department of Commerce, Division of Financial Institutions, where he handled a wide range of consumer finance issues involving loan officers and mortgage brokers. He joined the U.S. Army Reserve Judge Advocate General's Corps in 2002, and is a veteran of both Iraq and Afghanistan.

Mr. Wright earned his J.D. from Capital University Law School, where he was awarded the Order of the Curia, and his B.A. from Ohio University. He is licensed in Arizona and Ohio, and is admitted to practice before the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Arizona, the U.S. District Court for the District of Arizona, the Northern and Southern Districts of Ohio, the Eastern and Western Districts of Michigan, the Northern District of Texas, the Eastern District of Wisconsin, and the U.S. Supreme Court. He is a member of the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association Admissions Committee, the Ohio State Bar Association, and the Federal Bar Association.
