Weltman Shareholder Charles G. Pona New Secretary of the Board for Schnurmann House

BROOKLYN HEIGHTS, OH — Weltman, Weinberg & Reis Co., LPA, a full-service creditors’ rights law firm, is pleased to announce that Charles G. Pona is the new secretary of the board of directors for the Schnurmann House. Mr. Pona is a Shareholder and member of the firm’s Management Committee, overseeing Weltman’s firm wide Consumer Collections practice.

The Schnurmann House is a non-profit housing community for senior citizens located in Mayfield Heights, Ohio, with services available to older adults in surrounding cities. The community offers independent living in modern, affordable apartments, along with professional social service assistance in a caring and supportive environment. Mr. Pona has been involved with the Schnurmann House for more than 15 years and describes members of the board as being “like family.” As a member of the board, Mr. Pona will attend quarterly meetings and help make decisions on major improvements and repairs, as well as budgeting. In addition, he will participate in at least one committee. Committees oversee the house and grounds, finance, legal affairs, and fundraising.

Based in Weltman’s Brooklyn Heights office, Mr. Pona has been recognized for his experience with general collection and subrogation matters, including being AV® Preeminent™ Rated by Martindale-Hubbell, its highest available rating for legal ability and professional ethics. Mr. Pona is a member of the Northern Ohio Credit Association (NOCA) and The National Association of Subrogation Professionals (NASP), and he is past president and an active member of The National Association of Retail Collection Attorneys (NARCA). Mr. Pona earned his J.D. from Cleveland State University’s Cleveland-Marshall College of Law in 1986, and graduated magna cum laude with a B.S. in business administration from Bowling Green State University in 1982.
